Industria de Motores Electricos is a Mexican founded and privately owned family of businesses specializing in the production of electric motors. Recently celebrating our first 50 years of operation, we now manufacture more than 3,500 exclusively owned designs of the finest quality, fulfilling the highest national and international standards.

We are a key provider to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industries and also supply products for restaurant equipment, food preparation, medical equipment, and other general industrial needs. Recent developments allow us to participate in new technologies, applications, and markets such as ECM, PMDC, and BLDC motors and applications.

History

  • 1965 Motores McMillan was Founded
  • 1967 The Paramount Brand is Born
  • 1982 The Two Companies Merge
  • 1983 Manufacturas de Motores Eléctricos is Founded
  • 1990 Company acquires Franklin Electric Canada Plant
  • 1992 Altamira Plant Opens for Business
  • 1997 Company acquires Howard Electric and Brevel plant in the United States
  • 2000 All companies merge under the name: Industria de Motores Eléctricos
  • 2013 Company acquires Electric Vehicle division of General Electric
  • 2014 Manufactures direct current motors in fan cooled enclosures for maintenance and service electric vehicles, and applications in 1 HP and 25 HP.
  • 2016 – IMESA celebrates 50 years of operation and launches a new corporate image
